Day 31 – Dubai
He got so hot, his lips fell off.
We spent today in the Dubai Mall which is the largest shopping centre in the world. Although on paper it sounds like my worst nightmare, it’s a pretty cool place.
Exhibit A: Large fish tank.
Exhibit B: Dinosaurs.
We spent the day walking around, seeing the excessively lavish attractions and shops. We didn’t see all of it because the place is huge, but we saw a good variety of things. We also went to a Lebanese restaurant and got a nearly-good-as-homemade feast (twice, we had lunch and dinner there).
In between the meals we wandered, got some sweets, looked around. We saw the big water fountain shows they have, though even ten minutes outside was unbearable. The best thing about the mall was the extreme air conditioning they have which made it almost cold at certain times.
Here are a few other random photos from the day.
- Fish Tank.
- Hall.
- A fountain thing.
- Ice Skating!
- Responsive lights.
- The tallest building in the world (didn’t realise my lens had fogged up).
That’s all folks! The trip is now over and we leave for Brisbane tomorrow morning. A long trip back, but just want to get it over with and be able to sleep in my own bed again.
Overall, not a bad holiday. In fact, I would go as far as to say it was a good holiday.
